Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 3, 2026
This policy explains how Tessera Analytics AI ("Tessera", "we", "us") collects, uses and protects information when you visit tessera-analytics.ai (the "Site") or use Tessera Quest, the Tessera AI Engine and related services (the "Platform"). By using the Site or Platform you agree to this policy. Use of the Site and Platform is also governed by our Terms of Service.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact, demo and subscription requests. When you request a demo, ask for pricing, request a Tessera Quest subscription, contact us or apply for a role, we receive the details you provide, such as name, company, title, work email, basins of interest and your message. Site forms open a message in your own email client, so the information travels through your email provider to ours.
- Account information. When your organization is provisioned on the Platform, we hold your name, work email, role and the company you belong to, together with sign-in identifiers issued by your identity provider.
- Billing information. When you subscribe, we hold the billing contact, company name, billing address and tax details needed to issue invoices, and a record of the plans and payments on your account. Subscriptions are paid by invoice. We do not collect or store payment card numbers on the Site. If we add online payment, card details will be handled by a payment processor and not stored by Tessera.
- Customer data. Data your organization uploads to the Platform, such as well, production, completion, geological or economic data, and the cases, models and results you create from it.
Information collected automatically
- Usage and log data. Pages and Platform features used, the searches and questions you run, exports made, actions taken, timestamps, IP address, browser and device type, and error reports. The Platform keeps an audit log of administrative and data actions for security and support.
- Cookies and similar technologies. The Site uses the storage needed to remember interface preferences. The Platform uses cookies and browser storage required for sign-in sessions and security. We do not use advertising cookies.
- Site analytics. The Site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read, which sites refer visitors, and how fast pages load. It does not use cookies, does not build visitor profiles and does not track you across other sites.
2. How we use information
- To respond to requests, schedule walkthroughs and provision access.
- To set up and manage subscriptions, issue invoices and collect payment.
- To operate, secure, support and improve the Site and Platform, including monitoring use against plan limits and export allowances.
- To enforce agreements, protect our rights and comply with law.
- To send service communications about your account. Marketing email is sent only where permitted and you can opt out at any time.
3. Customer data stays yours
Data your organization loads into the Platform is processed only to provide the service to your organization. It is stored in a tenant that belongs to your company, is visible only to users your administrators authorize, and is never used to train models offered to other customers or shared with other customers. Models trained on your data remain private to your tenant. We may compute aggregate, de-identified operational statistics (for example total storage or feature usage) to run the service.
4. Public data
Tessera's own datasets are built from public records published by state regulators and other public sources, combined with Tessera's derived attributes. This policy does not restrict our use of information that is publicly available.
5. Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We share information only with:
- Service providers that host and operate the service on our behalf, including Microsoft Azure for hosting, storage and identity (Microsoft Entra), and email, productivity, invoicing and accounting providers. They may process data only under our instructions.
- Your organization, whose administrators can see users, activity and audit logs within their own tenant.
- Authorities or other parties where required by law, to protect safety, or in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case this policy continues to apply.
6. Your choices
- Marketing email. You can opt out of marketing email at any time through the unsubscribe link in the message or by writing to us. We will still send service messages about your account, such as invoices and security notices.
- What you send us. Giving us information through a form or by email is your choice. If you prefer not to, you can still browse the Site, though we may not be able to respond to a request or provision access without contact details.
- Browser storage. You can clear or block cookies and site storage in your browser. The Site keeps working, but the Platform needs them for sign-in.
7. Security
We use encryption in transit, encryption at rest for Platform storage, single sign-on through your identity provider, role-based access, per-company tenancy and audit logging. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Security also depends on you. Keep your sign-in details private, do not share accounts, sign out on shared devices, and tell us promptly if you think an account has been used without permission.
8. Retention
We keep contact and account information for as long as needed to provide the service and for a reasonable period afterwards for legal, accounting and security purposes. Customer data is retained for the term of your organization's agreement and deleted or returned on request within a reasonable time after termination, except where retention is required by law.
9. International transfers
Tessera is based in the United States and the Platform is hosted in United States data centers. If you access the service from elsewhere, your information is transferred to and processed in the United States.
10. Your requests and how we respond
You can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to stop using it for marketing. Depending on where you live, the law may give you further rights, such as exporting your information or objecting to certain processing. Write to [email protected]. We may need to verify who you are, and we will respond within 30 days or sooner where the law requires. We do not treat you differently for making a request.
If we learn of a security incident that affects your personal information or your organization's customer data, we will notify the affected users and customers without undue delay and as the law requires, and tell you what happened and what we are doing about it.
If you are a user of a customer's Platform tenant, your organization is the controller of your account data and we will refer requests to them where appropriate.
11. Third-party links and fonts
The Site loads web fonts from Google Fonts, which may record your IP address when a font is requested. The Site may link to third-party sites such as LinkedIn. Their privacy practices are their own.
12. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed. Material changes will be announced on the Site or by email to account holders. Continued use of the Site or Platform after a change means you accept the updated policy.
